Q: Is RailKernel free?

A: RailKernel is available in multiple editions: DEMO, STANDARD, PLUS, ENTERPRISE and CONTROL CENTER.

The STANDARD edition is currently available free of charge upon request.

Q: Which command stations are currently supported?

A: RailKernel currently supports:

• Märklin CS3
• Märklin CS3+

Additional command stations may be supported in future releases, ESU is planned for release 11.02.

Q: Does RailKernel support automatic train operation?

A: Yes.

RailKernel supports automatic train operation using blocks, feedback contacts and route reservations. Trains can automatically travel between destinations while RailKernel manages block occupancy and route safety.

Q: Does RailKernel support Märklin turntables?

A: Yes.

RailKernel supports Märklin turntables, including:

• Turntable configuration
• Track mapping
• Calibration

Q: Which operating systems are supported?

A: RailKernel is available for:

• Windows

Q: Does RailKernel require an internet connection?

A: No.

RailKernel runs locally on your computer and communicates directly with your command station over your local network.

Q: Can I import locomotives from my CS3?

A: Yes.

RailKernel can import locomotives directly from a Märklin CS3 or CS3+.

Q: Does RailKernel support multi-level layouts?

A: Yes.

RailKernel includes height management and supports layouts with multiple levels.

Q: Which track systems are supported?

A: RailKernel currently includes a complete Märklin C-Track library, including turnouts, crossings, double-slip switches, flex tracks and turntables. Some 25+ other track systems are available. AND YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE.

Q: How do I report a bug?

A: Please create a topic in the Bug Reports forum and include:

• RailKernel version
• Operating system
• Command station type
• Steps to reproduce the problem
• Screenshots if available
• Relevant log files
- Your layout xml file

This information helps us investigate and resolve issues more quickly.
